Peace out America

I've decided to write this in English, cus i wanna tell my friends and family here in America how I feel about leaving. 11 months ago I left Norway to be an exchange student in Louisville, KY, America. I looked forward to attend real American High school and experience American culture. I was sooo nervous when I was on my way to Louisville. And even though things didn't really work out in the beginning, I was still excited for my year abroad. I moved in with my new host family and started school. Everything where very confusing the first day of school, but teachers and students helped me through it! I played volleyball and gained new friends. Friends for life. Even though I had never played volleyball before, my team mates and coaches didn't stop believing in me. I soon felt a part of something special. After volleyball season, I started with Basketball. I had never played that before either, sooo yeah, it was funnyyy.. My coach didn't believe me when I said I had never played before. So I must have done something right! But one day I came home to terrible news. The worst news an exchange student can get.. My grandmother in Norway passed away in November.. So I left everything behind in America and went home to my family and friends.. I thank everybody in America and in Norway for being such good supporters for me when that happened.. I couldn't have done it without you guys.. When I got back to America again, I continued with school and basketball. But unfortunately it didn't last that long... During Christmas break I tore my ACL and meniscus.. I went through surgery january 30th. And the following week, I was a whiny little kid who where in a lot of pain. I thank my host family for being there for me and for helping me through that tuff time..! February, my best friend came to visit ME in America!! Marit Røher stayed here for 10 days. We had an awesome time even though we both got sick!! Thank you for visiting me, and I hope you had fun! I know I had! :) March the 8th, my parents from Norway came to visit! Even though we only spend 4 days together, I had a lot of fun! It was so nice to see yall again.. That was a big highlight of my year. I think you all had a lot of fun, and I know you where excited to have seen the school and stuff! A great memory for all of us! This year I've been a lot of places. I have been to Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, and last but not least, FLORIDA! My host family took the whole family to Florida for Spring Break! We had so much fun! I am so grateful for everything you have done for me. I cant say it enough!
After Spring Break, all the school dances where ahead of us. I was lucky to have the chance to go to Ring Dance for free, thanks to Coach Cook! Love you! I had so much fun! I will never forget that night. A couple of weeks later I went to CAL's prom with Craig, thank you for taking me to your prom! I hope you had fun, cus I know I did! 1 week later my own PROM was on the calendar and I was voted PROM QUEEN! I will never forget that feeling when I found out. It was amazing. After all the dances, school was pretty much over. We only had a few tests and interviews left. And even though seniors where technically out of school, I still went to school just so I could see everybody one last time.. Last week we had graduation. That was an incredible experience. Since we're so boring in Norway and don't have cap and gowns, I'm glad I got to experience that here. Saturday, we had a big graduation party at our house. There where like 70 people here that day, and thank you all for coming! And we couldnt have done it without Jim and Sandy!! We really appreciate it! Me and Leti made a video of pictures/videos/text/music about our year as exchange students. I was trying to upload it on Facebook, but it was too big.. If anybody wants a copy, ill make you one! This year has been one of the most memorable years of my life and I am so grateful that I got the chance to experience it! I appreciate what my host family and my family has done for me this past year. And I leave this country with so many great memories. Im sad that some of the friends I made here I might never see again, and if I don't, lots of luck in life, but hopefully I'll see most of you guys at the reunion in 10 years! I love yall so very much!! Im never gonna forget you..
And thanks again to my host parents Jim and Sandy for everything! Mom, dad in Norway, Thank you and I love you! I leave Louisville tomorrow at 1:20 pm, if you wanna meet me one last time you better be at the airport at 11 am tomorrow! Love yall! Peace out.
